CONNECTING YOUR ANCESTORS


RESEARCH METHODS AND RESOURCES


You are invited to attend a genealogical workshop for anyone interested in joining The Sons of the Republic of Texas, The Daughters of the Republic of Texas, or learning the steps to document his/her personal family lineage.


DATE: January 23, 2010
PLACE: Tyler Public Library Conference Room (ground floor) 201 S. College
TIME: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (You may attend all day or a portion of the day.)
WORKSHOP FEE: None
LUNCH FEE: $10.00 (If you would like the convenience of a light lunch at the library.)

SPEAKERS:
  • Mary Nell Bryant, Past President, Texas State Genealogical Society, will explain how to find your ancestors using collateral lines;
  • Barbara Galbreath, Tyler Public Library, will review genealogical resources available in the library;
  • Scott Fitzgerald, Past President, Texas State Genealogical Society, will review internet resources;
  • SRT and DRT Members with genealogical experience will field general genealogy questions as well as review lineage society requirements and application procedures..

Attendees are invited to bring copies of family documents for hands-on help in preparing a lineage application.

Prior registration is not required except for lunch, but to have an adequate number of handouts for attendees, prior registration would be appreciated.
