~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We miss thee from our home, dear mother;
            We miss thee from thy place,
A shadow o’er our life is cast,
            We miss the Sunshine of thy face.
We miss thy kind and willing hand,
            Thy fond and earnest care,
Our home is dark without thee—
            We miss thee everywhere.
This funeral card did not bring any of the typical matches when I searched Ancestry.com as I normally do. So I expanded my search to google.com then genealogybank.com. On genealogybank.com, I found two articles that looked promising.
The first article was from Richmond Times Dispatch, Richmond, Virginia, dated April 26, 1904, page 2:
Mrs. Mary Boone, widow of the late I. H. Boone, of Franklin, died this morning from dropsy, aged seventy-nine years. She is survived by eight children. Her husband was one of the most prominent men of Franklin.
The second article was from the Sun of Baltimore, Maryland, published on April 27, 1904, page 11:
Mrs. Mary Boon, widow of I. H. Boone, died at her home, at Boone’ Mills, early Monday morning from dropsy, aged 79 years.
I searched FindAGrave.com and found a tombstone for Mary Lute Wade Boone, wife of Isaac H. Boone, at Boones Mill Cemetery, Boones Mill, Franklin County, Virginia. The inscription of the tombstone is transcribed as follows:
Mary L.
Wife of
Isaac H. Boone
Born
Jan. 10, 1825
Died
Apr. 25, 1904
Wife of Isaac H. Boone
So everything matches except for the year born. It shows 1925 on the tombstone and 1935 on the memorial card. The memorial card shows her age as 79 years which from 1904 gives us 1825 in stead of the 1835 shown on the card. So I believe this is the person that is memorialized on the cabinet card.
