March Meeting
The Gregg County Genealogy Society will meet Tuesday, March 2, 2010 in the Moeschle Room of the Longview Public Library. Personal genealogical sharing and visiting among members begins at 6:30 PM with the business meeting and program at 7:00 PM. Visitors are always welcome.
Our program will be "Women Who Make A Difference - The Daughters of the Republic of Texas" presented by members of The Daughters of the Republic of Texas, John Tillery Edwards Chapter, Suzy Burt, Ruth Lawrence, Lolita Lloyd and Linda O'Hart. These members will talk about their DRT ancestors and the history of the DRT.
Suzy Burt is chapter registrar, Lolita Lloyd is currently serving as chapter secretary, Linda O'Hart is Historian, in charge of the "scrapbook", Sandra Hooker is publicity chairman.
This program is being presented on Texas Independence Day.
The John Tillery Edwards Chapter of the DRT has arranged the Texas display in the glass cases in the Longview Public Library. This display will be in the library during March and April.
